If you like muesli, you’ll absolutely love this easy to prepare and versatile Toasted Fruit and Nut Muesli. I toasted the oats and nuts to enhance their flavor and tossed them with dried fruit.
Ingredients for Toasted Fruit and Nut Muesli
I used the following ingredients: Old-fashioned oats, wheat germ, wheat bran, dried cranberries, sliced almonds, sunflower seeds, and brown sugar.
Making the Muesli
First, I toasted the oats in a 300° F oven for about 30 minutes. Then, I toasted the almond slices in a 350° F oven for about 10 minutes. Next, I toasted the wheat germ and the wheat bran in a 350° F oven for about 5 minutes. The reason for toasting these ingredients was to enhance their flavor.
After letting everything cool, I added the toasted oats, almonds, wheat germ, wheat bran, dried cranberries, sunflower seeds and brown sugar to a large bowl.
Finally, I stirred everything together with a wooden spoon.
That’s it – delicious Toasted Fruit and Nut Muesli. I like mine drizzled with a bit of honey and topped with pecans. For variation, sometimes I use pecans or walnuts in place of the almonds, and raisins in place of the dried cranberries. However I make it, it’s always delicious and healthy. Yum!
