Buffalo Chip Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup margarine, softened
2 cups granulated sugar
2 cups firmly packed light brown sugar
4 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 teaspoons baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 cups all purpose flour
2 cups quick-cooking oats, uncooked
2 cups corn flakes
1 cup chopped pecans
1 cup shredded coconut
1 (12-ounce) package semisweet chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 350º F.

Cream shortening and margarine; gradually add sugars, beating well at medium speed of an electric mixer until light and fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla extract, baking powder and baking soda; beat well. Add flour and mix well. Add oats and remaining ingredients, one at a time, stirring well after each addition. Drop dough by Tablespoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from cookie sheet and cool on wire racks. Yield: about 9½ dozen.
