Sage and Onion Stuffing

2 Tablespoons butter
3 large onions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon dried sage
2 cups fresh white breadcrumbs
1 egg
½ cup milk
Salt to taste (try ¾ teaspoon)
Freshly ground pepper

Preheat oven to 350º F.

Melt the butter in a large skillet and sauté the onions over medium heat until they are soft, about 5 minutes. Mix all of the other stuffing ingredients together in a bowl, add the onions and season generously with salt and pepper.

Place in an oven proof baking dish. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve with pork. Yield: 4 servings
