Beef bourguignon is both hearty and amazingly delicious. This famous French dish is a rich slow cooked beef stew, where the beef is braised in red wine with onions and carrots until it is fork tender.
Ingredients for Beef Bourguignon
Dry beef with paper towels; sprinkle with salt and pepper.
In small batches, brown beef in oil over medium-high heat. Remove from pan.
Add onions; cook over medium high heat for 7 to 8 minutes.
Add flour; stir to combine. Cook for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add garlic and thyme; stir to combine.
Add wine; stir, scraping up bits from bottom of pan. Bring to a boil.
Add cooked beef and remaining ingredients. Reduce heat and cover; Cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours.
