Spooky Halloween Pizza Skulls

Spooky Halloween Pizza Skulls are a unique and tasty addition to your Halloween gathering. These ghoulish treats are not only delicious with traditional pizza fixings.

  • Nordic Ware Haunted Skull Cakelet Pan


  • 13 ounce roll of refrigerated classic pizza crust
  • 1 ½ cups Shredded mozzarella cheese (See Tip 1)
  • ½ cup Pizza sauce (See Tip 2)
  • 24 pieces Sliced pepperoni (See Tip 3)
  • ½ cup Italian sausage, cooked, drained and crumbled
  • Vegetable oil or non-stick cooking spray for coating the skull cups


  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Brush the skull cups with vegetable oil or spray with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Unroll the pizza crust onto a floured piece of parchment paper. Roll to approximately 15 inches by 12 inches. Cut in half lengthwise; cut each strip into 3 pieces. (See Tip 4)
  • Place a piece of pizza crust on top of a skull cup and press lightly to form a bowl. Add 1 ½ tablespoons of mozzarella cheese, followed by a tablespoon of pizza sauce, four slices of pepperoni, and 1 tablespoon of Italian sausage. Top with 1 ½ tablespoons of mozzarella cheese. Pinch together the sides of the pizza crust and the ends, making sure that the filling is completely enclosed. Repeat with remaining ingredients and skull cups.
  • Bake in preheated 375°F oven for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes. Remove pizza skulls from the skull pan and place them on a wire rack to continue cooling. Serve warm.
  • Yield: 6 Spooky Pizza Skulls


  1. May use store-bought pre-shredded mozzarella cheese in this recipe.
  2. May use store-bought or homemade pizza sauce in this recipe.
  3. May substitute mini pepperoni in place of the regular-size pepperoni.
  4. You should end up with six pieces of pizza dough, each roughly 6 inches by 5 inches.
