Equipment

  • half-sheet pan
  • Basting Brush
  • wire cooling rack
  • Spreader Knife
  • Large Serrated Knife
  • Frill Picks optional

Ingredients

  • 12 King's Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls
  • ¼ c Unsalted Butter melted
  • ½ c Mayonnaise
  • 5 slices Swiss Cheese
  • ¼ lb Maple Glazed Honey Coated Ham1 deli sliced very thin
  • ¼ lb Cracked Pepper Mill Turkey1 deli sliced very thin
  • 5 slices Sharp Cheddar Cheese
  • 1 lb Low Sodium Thick Cut Bacon2 cooked
  • 2 medium Tomatoes sliced thin3
  • 6 large pieces Leaf Lettuce

Instructions

  • Preheat oven broiler to high, slice the King's Hawaiian Rolls in half length wise, and place the two slabs on a half sheet pan. Melt the butter in the microwave and then brush all of it over both halves. Toast under the broiler for about a minute and a half, rotating the pan every 30 seconds. Make sure to keep an eye on the rolls, they can for from golden toasty and burnt in a matter of seconds.
  • Remove from the oven, transfer the rolls to a wire cooling rack, and allow to cool to room temperature. Spread ¼ cup mayonnaise over each cooled toasted roll slab.4
  • Place the Swiss cheese in a single layer, breaking one of the pieces in half, on the bottom buns. Next, place the ham, fluffing and folding the pieces in half. Then, place the turkey, fluffing and folding the pieces in half.
  • Place cheddar cheese in a single layer, breaking one of the pieces in half. Then, layer the bacon on top of the cheese. Next, place the dried tomato slices in a single layer and whole leaves of lettuce. Finally place the toasted and mayo-slipped top buns.
  • When you're ready to serve, place picks into the tops of each slider, to help hold them together, and use a long, sharp serrated knife to cut them into individual sliders. Gentle sawing motions will keep the fillings from squishing out the sides!
  • Yield: 12 Club Sandwich Sliders

Notes

  1. You can use whatever ham and turkey you like, but the flavor combination of the Maple Glazed Honey Coated Ham and Cracked Pepper Mill Turkey elevate the flavor profile of the sliders, and gives them extra depth. Also, both are Boar's Head.
  2. For perfect bacon use my Easy No-Mess Crispy Oven Bacon recipe.
  3. For dry tomatoes, slice them thin and place them in between layers of paper towels, pressing down gently to remove excess juice. This is the single best way to prevent a water-logged sandwich.
  4. You do want mayo on both halves because it acts as a fat-based barrier to keep juices from soaking into the bread.
