Equipment

  • half-sheet pan
  • Non-Stick Extra-Wide Heavy-Duty Aluminum Foil
  • 4-inch Bamboo Skewers
  • piping bag

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs (32 ounces) Frozen Tater Tots
  • ½ lb Cooked & Crumbled Bacon
  • 3 oz Colby Jack Cheese shredded
  • 3 oz Extra-Sharp Cheddar Cheese shredded
  • 2 tsp Chives chopped

For the Ranch Dip

  • ¾ c Sour Cream
  • 3 tbs Mayonnaise
  • 1 tbs Ranch Seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 450°F or according to the tater tot package directions. Line a half sheet pan with non-stick extra-wide heavy-duty aluminum foil. Lay the tater tots out in a single layer on the pan. Bake for 32 minutes or the full cooking time according to the tater tot package directions.1
  • Remove the pan from the oven and place three tots on a 4-inch bamboo skewer. Place the skewers back on the pan, with the side that was touching the pan facing up.
  • Sprinkle the tops of the skewers with shredded Colby Jack cheese, crumbled bacon pieces, and extra-sharp cheddar cheese. Return to the 450°F oven for 10 minutes, or until the cheese has melted.

To Make the Ranch Dip

  • Start by placing the sour cream, mayonnaise, and ranch seasoning in a medium-sized bowl. Then, use a whisk to combine everything together. Place half of the ranch dip in a piping bag. Set aside until ready to use.

To Finish the Loaded Tater Tot Skewers

  • Remove the pan from the oven. While hot, use a knife to separate the cheese between the skewers and place them on a large serving platter. Snip the tip off the piping bag and pipe some ranch dip over the top.
  • Then sprinkle some chives over the top and serve warm, with the remaining ranch dip on the side.
  • Yield 30 servings.
