Tips/Notes

  1. I used low-fat cream cheese.
  2. I used low-fat sour cream.
  3. To easily fit the wonton wraps into the mini-muffin cups, cut ½-inch slits on opposite sides. This allows wonton wraps to better overlap and fit into the mini-muffin cups.
  4. Rather than filling the wonton cups with the Jalapeño Popper filling, you can make a dip. Place the filling in an oven-proof bowl, top with breadcrumbs, dot with butter, and bake at 350° F for 15 to 20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  5. I filled the wonton cups with a 2-teaspoon or #100 ice cream scoop, which was the perfect size.
  6. The Wonton Jalapeño Popper Bites can be served hot, warm, or cold. They can also be made ahead of time and reheated for 5 minutes in a 350°F oven.
