Ingredients for Wonton Jalapeño Popper Bites
These tasty morsels use simple ingredients for an amazing taste.
Making the Wonton Cups
- I started by brushing the cups of my mini-muffin pan with vegetable oil.
- Then, I placed the wonton wraps into the mini-muffin cups and brushed the wonton cups with vegetable oil.
- I baked the wonton cups in a preheated 350°F oven for about 6 minutes. After they started to very lightly brown, I removed them from the oven and let them cool while I made the jalapeño popper filling.
Making the Wonton Jalapeño Poppers: Step-by-Step
- While the wonton cups were browning, I beat the cream cheese and sour cream with my electric mixer on high until the mixture was smooth. This took about a minute.
- Before adding the remaining ingredients, I reserved several tablespoons of the cheese and bacon and about a tablespoon of the diced jalapeño peppers to sprinkle on top of the wonton cups. I added the rest of the shredded Cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and diced jalapeño peppers to the cream cheese/sour cream mixture.
- I beat the mixture on low until everything was well combined. This took another minute. That’s it for making the filling!
Finishing the Wonton Jalapeño Poppers
I filled each of the wonton cups with the jalapeño popper filling using my 2-teaspoon ice cream scoop.
Then, I sprinkled on the reserved cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, and diced jalapeño peppers.
I baked the Wonton Jalapeño Popper Bites in a preheated 350°F oven for about 6 minutes. After six minutes, the cheese was melted, and the filling was hot.
Then, I removed the popper bites from the oven and let them cool for about 10 minutes before serving them.

Recipe Tips and Tricks and Variations
- Prevent Sogginess: Brush the wonton wrappers with vegetable oil before baking to ensure a crispy base.
- Customize: Set up a topping bar with extra cheese, bacon, and jalapeños for guests to personalize their bites.
- Use Scoop: A small cookie scoop distributes the filling for consistent bites.
- Cool: Let the bites cool for a few minutes before serving to prevent burns and enhance the flavor.
- Tostito Scoops: Forget about the wonton wrappers – use Tostito Scoops instead!

Do I cut the wonton wrappers to fit the mini muffin pans?
PudgeFactor says
Rosemary, it’s not necessary to cut the wonton wrappers. They are pliable enough that they can be pressed down into the mini-muffin cups.
