    Here's What You'll Need

All you need are four simple items to make this adorable Valentine's treat.

    Ingredients for Giant-Filled Valentine Kiss.
    • Plastic Funnel: I used a 3 ½-inch plastic funnel that I purchased from Dollar Tree to form the "Kiss".
    • Filling: For the filling, I used Hershey's Valentine Kisses.
    • Foil Covering: I covered the plastic funnel with lightweight aluminum foil that I purchased from Dollar Tree.
    • Kisses Paper Strip: I made a Kisses paper strip like the one used in Hershey's Kisses. I've added the Kisses strip to download if you're interested.

Steps: Here's How to Make This Simple but Special Treat

    1. I started by inverting the plastic funnel in glass to hold the funnel steady. Then, I added Hershey's Kisses to the inside of the funnel.

    1. Next, I gathered the aluminum foil, twisted it around the funnel, and placed the Kisses strip into the end of the funnel.

    1. Finally, I pressed the aluminum foil around the end of the funnel.

That's it - simple steps to make this special treat!

You need to cut the bottom out to get to the candy inside the funnel. Watch the smiles as the candy tumbles out. Yum!

    Recipe FAQ

What size funnel is used in this recipe?

I tried different sizes of funnels and a 3 ½-inch funnel works best because of the width of the aluminum foil and the need to cover the entire funnel.

Can regular-strength aluminum foil be used?

In a pinch, regular-strength aluminum foil can be used. However, I think that it looked too thick when pressed around the end of the funnel. The lightweight aluminum foil from Dollar Tree worked much better.

Can you use different candy to fill the funnel?

Feel free to use whatever candy you like to fill the funnel.

    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • I used Photoshop to make the paper strip (linked above) that I inserted into the end of the funnel. Feel free to make your own paper strip with whatever message you want.
    • I experimented with different funnel sizes. The 3 ½-inch funnel was the largest I could use, given the need to cover the funnel entirely with aluminum foil.
    • I experimented with different strengths of aluminum foil for this Valentine's treat. The regular-strength aluminum foil was too thick to press around the end of the funnel neatly and therefore didn't look that good. The lightweight aluminum foil from Dollar Tree worked much better.
    • I also experimented with different sizes of aluminum foil needed to cover the funnel completely. The width of the aluminum foil was fixed at 12 inches. I found that a length of 16 inches worked perfectly.

    Ingredients

    • 1 3 ½-inch plastic funnel (See Tip 1)
    • ½ cup Hershey's Kisses (See Tip 2)
    • 12 x 16-inch piece of light-weight aluminum foil (See Tip 3)
    • Paper Kisses Strip (See Tip 4)

    Instructions

    • Invert plastic funnel in a glass to hold the funnel steady. Then fill the inside of the funnel with candy.
    • Place the aluminum foil over the funnel. Using a small plate or something else to hold the candy in place, turn the funnel right-side up. Gather the aluminum foil around the funnel, twisting the foil to hold it in place. Leave the tip uncovered.
    • Place the paper strip into the tip of the funnel, leaving about 1 ½ inches hanging out. Press the foil around the tip of the funnel to completely cover it.
    • Yield: One Giant-Filled Valentine Kiss

    Tips/Notes

    1. I experimented with different funnel sizes for this recipe and found that a 3 ½-inch funnel works best. The reason is that the aluminum foil needs to cover the funnel completely. Any larger and the width of the aluminum foil becomes a problem because it will only cover the funnel partially.
    2. You can use whatever candy you like to fill the funnel.
    3. Light-weight aluminum foil works much better in this recipe than regular-strength aluminum foil.
    4. I used Photoshop to make the paper strip. Feel free to make your own paper strip and write whatever you like on it.
