    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • If the candy is too thick to dip, add one tablespoon of solid vegetable shortening for every 12 ounces of candy melts. Heat for 30 seconds at 50% power and stir to incorporate the melted shortening fully.
    • I use the fork from the Wilton Candy Melts Dipping Tool Set to dip the lady fingers.
    • I used a pair of Fine Tip Straight Long tweezers to place the chocolate chips so that my fingers would not mess up the melted candy.
    • If the candy starts to become too thick while dipping the lady fingers, return the bowl to the microwave and heat for 30 seconds at 50% power to return it to a good dipping consistency.
    • It's ok if the candy is not smooth after the lady fingers are dipped, it will add to the texture when you pipe the extra melted candy on top for the bandages.
