    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use fresh blueberries instead of frozen?

Yes, you can substitute fresh blueberries. However, frozen blueberries tend to hold their shape better during baking. If using fresh, you might want to toss them lightly in a bit of flour to prevent them from sinking too much.

Can this casserole be made ahead of time?

Absolutely! Assemble the casserole as directed, cover it tightly, and refrigerate it overnight. Add about 5-10 minutes to the baking time if baking directly from the refrigerator.

    How should I store leftovers?

Leftovers should be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.

Can I add nuts to this recipe?

Yes, chopped nuts like pecans or walnuts would be a delicious addition. Sprinkle them over the blueberries before baking.

Can I use a different kind of fruit?

While this recipe is specifically for blueberry, you could experiment with other berries like raspberries or a mixed berry blend. Adjust baking time as needed.

    Recipe Tips and Tricks

    • Don't over-bake: Bake until the cinnamon rolls are golden brown and the casserole is set, but still slightly gooey in the center.
    • Evenly distribute the blueberries: Try to spread the blueberries evenly over the cinnamon rolls for the best flavor in every bite.
    • Warm the cream cheese: Make sure your cream cheese is softened to room temperature for a smooth and lump-free frosting.
    • Adjust sweetness: If you prefer a less sweet casserole, you can reduce the amount of icing or omit the maple syrup.
    • Add a hint of lemon: A little lemon zest in the cream cheese frosting can add a bright and refreshing flavor.
