    Here’s What You’ll Need

I used only two ingredients for this adorable Easter Bunny Bark: Bright white candy melts and pastel colored M&M’s.

In addition, I used a silicone bunny pan and disposable piping bag.

Ingredients and supplies used in this recipe.

Here’s How I Made This Adorable Easter Candy

    1. First, I added the candy melts to a disposable piping bag. You could also use a Ziploc bag here.

Then, I microwaved the candy melts in minute intervals at 50% power until all of the wafers were melted.

    1. Next, I dropped five pastel colored M&Ms into each cavity of the silicone pan. It turns out that there are five different colors of pastel M&Ms, so I used one of each color.

I had actually done a bit of experimentation to determine the best number of M&Ms to use. It turned out that five was the perfect number!

M&Ms in cavities of silicone bunny pan.
    1. I wanted to make sure that the M&M’s were somewhat distributed in the cavities. Therefore, I gave the pan a bit of a shake to move the M&M’s around.

In my experimentation, I determined that this Easter candy recipe worked best if some of the M&M’s were flat and others were on their sides. Therefore, with this step, I didn’t worry too much about how the M&M’s ended up. The reason was that the randomness was perfect!

Shaking the easter bunny pan to distribute the M&Mls.
    1. Next, I cut off the top of the piping bag. I piped the melted candy melts into each of the cavities. I piped just enough to cover the M&M’s.
    Piping the melted candy melts.
    1. Then, I tapped, tapped and tapped the silicone pan to evenly distribute the white candy melts.

    1. I allowed the candy melts to harden. Then, I pushed the Easter Bunny Bark from the silicone mold.
    Removing candy from silicone pan.

The silicone pan had 12 cavities. Therefore, once 12 of the pieces of Easter candy were done, I repeated the process with the remaining M&M’s and candy melts.

I made 24 absolutely adorable and delicious pieces of Easter Bunny Bark. Yum!

    Frequently Asked Questions

Where can I purchase the silicone bunny pan?

I purchased the silicone bunny pan several years ago from Michaels. I don’t know whether Michaels carries it now. If not, I suspect that Michaels will carry something similar.

Where can I purchase the Bright White Candy Melts?

I purchased the Bright White Candy Melts from Joann’s. However, you can also purchase them from Hobby Lobby, Walmart or Michaels.

Can the Easter Bunny Bark be packaged for gifts?

I like to package the Easter Bunny Bark individually in a clear flat 3-inch x 5-inch treat bag, tied with pastel ribbons.

Where did you get the silicon mold?

      Kathy,

I think that I got the mold several years ago from Michaels. However, you can get it from Walmart (https://www.walmart.com/ip/Wilton-Easter-Treat-Molds-And-Candy-Melts-Candy-Making-Set-6-Piece/215966132). I suspect that any silicone bunny mold would work.

Can you buy flavored candy melts or can you add a flavored extract without affecting the consistency of the melts? Thank you for a cute idea.

      Eileen,

I know that you can purchase flavored candy melts, but I don’t have any experience in using them.

I have, however, used a teaspoon of lemon oil to two cups of the candy melts in the past to flavor the candy melts. This works great. I’ve also used a teaspoon of peppermint extract to flavor two cups of the candy melts.

The main thing to keep in mind when adding flavorings is that they need to be oil based. Water based flavorings can mess up the consistency of the candy melts.

If I prepare it, how long will the prepared bark last?

      Bronny,

The prepared bark should be fine for two to three weeks if stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
