    Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of rolls should I use?

I prefer the Pepperidge Farm slider buns. However, you can also experiment with Hawaiian rolls, pretzel buns, or even mini sourdough baguettes for a different twist. Or you can make your own by using my Slider Buns Recipe.

If I don't have any leftover holiday ham, can I still make these?

Absolutely! Just head to the deli counter in your local supermarket and get them to slice you up some ham of your choice.

What can I serve with Honey-Mustard Ham and Swiss Sliders?

Salad greens, roasted vegetables, potato salad, or baked mac and cheese are all great side dishes for sliders.

Can I make the sliders ahead of time?

Absolutely! Assemble the sliders and store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Just heat them up according to the baking instructions before serving.

What type of honey mustard should I use?

I prefer to make my own, but you can use store-bought honey mustard. If you're using store-bought, choose a brand that you like the flavor of. If you're making your own, you can adjust the sweetness and tanginess to your preference.

    Recipe Tips And Tricks

    • To prevent the sliders from getting soggy, you can toast the bread slightly before building the sandwiches and avoid overloading them with too much wet filling. You can also use a sturdier bread like pretzel buns or sourdough.
    • To reheat the sliders , place them on a half sheet pan lined with non-stick aluminum foil, then place another piece of foil over the top of the sliders, and reheat in a 375°F oven for 12 minutes.
    • Get creative with your honey mustard! Swap Dijon mustard for a sharper bite, add a dollop of whole-grain mustard for texture, or infuse it with herbs like rosemary or thyme for a unique twist.
    • Don't limit yourself to Swiss! Experiment with cheddar for a sharper bite, Gruyère for nuttiness, or mozzarella for gooey goodness. Combine cheeses for even more flavor depth.
