Ingredients – Here’s What You’ll Need
- Leftover Standing Rib Roast: If you don’t have any leftover rib roast, freshly sliced roast beef from the deli counter will work just as well. I was able to slice the leftover rib roast using a 2 MM slicing blade in my food processor.
- Provolone Cheese: This mild, semi-soft cheese melts beautifully and adds a subtle creaminess that complements the rich rib roast without overpowering it. But depending on your taste buds and the vibe you’re going for you could use cheddar, Swiss, pepper jack, or even Gruyère.
- Slider buns: I like the Pepperidge Farm slider buns, and in my opinion they are far superior to the King’s Hawaiian slider buns, but any slider bun will do for this recipe. If you want to really up your slider game why not try my Homemade Slider Buns Recipe.
- Unsalted butter, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce: Mix them together and brush the buttery goodness directly onto the slider buns for a simple yet satisfying flavor boost. The Worcestershire sauce adds umami depth, while the garlic powder brings a subtle savory kick.
Step to Make Leftover Rib Roast Sliders
- Line a quarter sheet pan with non-stick aluminum foil and place the bottom of the slider buns in the center of the pan.
- Place a layer of sliced provolone on top of the bottom of the buns.
- Then, place a layer of your sliced leftover rib roast on top of the cheese. I used a 2 MM slicing blade in my food processor to get the rib roast sliced thin.
- Next, place another layer of provolone cheese on top of the sliced rib roast.
- Then, place the tops of the slider buns on top of the cheese.
- Place the unsalted butter in a small microwave-safe bowl and melt it in the microwave for 30 seconds or until the butter is melted. Then, add the garlic powder.
- Next, add the Worcestershire sauce to the melted butter.
- Then, whisk until everything is combined.
- Using a basting brush, brush the butter mixture over the tops and sides of the filled sliders. Then, bake in a 375°F oven for 12 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the meat is heated through.
- When the sliders are done, remove them from the oven and cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
- Then, transfer the slides to a serving plate and, using a serrated knife, slice between the sliders to separate. Enjoy!
Some Topping Ideas for Leftover Rib Roast Sliders

- Decadent: Gruyère cheese, fig jam, and crispy prosciutto.

Recipe Tips And Tricks
- To prevent the sliders from getting soggy, toast the bread slightly before building the sandwiches and avoid overloading them with too much wet filling. You can also use sturdier bread like pretzel buns or sourdough.
- To reheat the sliders, place them on a half-sheet pan lined with non-stick aluminum foil, then place another piece of foil over the top of the sliders and reheat in a 375°F oven for 12 minutes.
- Embrace contrasting flavors! Caramelized onions, pickled vegetables, or cranberry sauce add a surprising sweetness that balances the savory meat.
- Fresh herbs like parsley, rosemary, or chives add a pop of color and a refreshing touch. Don’t shy away from a sprinkle of chili flakes or cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
