Top Tips
If you're going to make these fantastic recipes, follow these top tips!
- If you don't have a kitchen scale, get one. They are relatively inexpensive, and I use mine daily.
- Always weigh your ingredients, especially flour and sugar. This introduces a lot of variability in recipes. As an added benefit, you'll have fewer things to wash if you weigh your ingredients-put your mixing bowl on the scale, zero or tare it, and add ingredients until you reach the desired weight.
- My recipes use the following weights: One cup of flour = 5 ounces or 142 grams; one cup of granulated sugar = 7 ounces or 198 grams; one cup of brown sugar (light or dark) packed = 7.5 ounces or 213 grams; one cup of shredded or grated cheese = 4 ounces or 116 grams.
- Oven time and temperature are based on a conventional (non-fan) oven.
- The prep times provided in the recipes on this website are estimates based on our cooking experiences. However, actual prep times may vary significantly due to various factors, including, but not limited to, experience and skill level, kitchen equipment, ingredient preparation, multitasking ability, and interruptions. Please use these times as a general guide and adjust according to your pace and circumstances. We hope you enjoy making and sharing these recipes!
